Water Saving > Swimming Pools

As the Australian market leader in back-wash water recycling systems for public swimming pools, iPools Australia is proud of the tens of millions of litres of water we save each year for councils throughout the nation.

The Triton System – Water Recycling Plant automatically activates when a POOL backwash process takes place.

The Triton draws the soiled backwash water from the holding tank and removes contaminants in a 7-stage filtration and sanitation process.

The process includes Zeolite, carbon, ultra-violet (UV) disinfection, chlorine injection and has an optional reverse osmosis (RO) bank that can further purify the water. Product water is then delivered to a storage tank for reuse in the pool and/or gardens.

Noosa Aquatic Centre

The Triton System installed at Noosa Aquatic Centre in QLD, is a multi-stage filtration plant that is an integrated part of the pool’s backwash processes. The system incorporates AquaZel, Ultra-Filtration (UF), Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), Ultra Violet (UV) light disinfection, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Chlorine injection.

The attached reports were prepared based on water samples from Noosa Pool. There are two sets of reports:

  • Queensland Health - Scientific Services (Queensland Government) – Microbiology Report
    • These reports compare same day water samples before and after treatment
    • Results compare Microbiological presence

  • Queensland Health - Scientific Services (Queensland Government) – Water Analysis Report
    • These reports compare same day water samples before and after treatment
    • Results compare salts, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), conductivity, pH and trace elements

Gosford Olympic Pool - Gosford

The Gosford region just North of Sydney, has suffered with low rainfall and drought for several years and has sought innovative solutions to water conservation. The Gosford Council has an enviable reputation for its Environmental management.

As part of Council's water conservation initiatives, iPools Australia was engaged to design and implement a water recycling system at the Gosford Olympic pool to maximise its water reuse and to minimise its water wastage.

The core of the system is iPools' Triton Water Recycling plant that treats the filter backwash water that would otherwise be lost down the drain. Each year the Triton will save over 4.1 million litres of water for Gosford residents.

In addition to this, the system incorporates 170,000 litres of rainwater harvesting for toilet flushing, hard surface washing and watering of gardens.
